Aileen Kwa
Aileen Kwa is a Research Associate at Focus on
the Global South. She does research and advocacy on WTO issues pertaining
to developing countries. Much of her recent work has been geared towards building
the capacity of developing country governments engaged in trade negotiations
at the WTO. Prior to her being at Focus, she was a staff member of Engender,
a women's development NGO where she was very involved in the regional preparation
for the UN World Conference on Women in 1995. She attained her Bachelor and
Masters degrees from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. Her masters
thesis was on women and state policies in Singapore.
