Marco Mezzera
Marco G. Mezzera is a Research Associate at Focus on the Global South, Bangkok,
Thailand. He is a citizen of Italy and the Netherlands. He has a M.Sc. degree
in Rural Development Studies, with a specialization in Development Sociology,
at the Agricultural University of Wageningen, the Netherlands. In 1996 he
has been an intern at the Philippine Rural Reconstruction Movement, doing
research and helping organizing the Manila People’s Forum on APEC ’96. In
1997 he has been a Finance Staff member at the Dutch international development
organization Novib. He has joined Focus in January 1998, starting with an
assignment as ASEM coordinator for Asia. Starting by July 1998 his main task
at Focus has been to carry out research into regulation of international financial
flows and capital controls. Since the beginning of August 1999 he is head
of the Alternative Security Program at Focus.
