On March 18, 2011, members of the Partido ng Lakas ng Masa (strength of the masses) together with other advocacy groups and sectoral organizations (Alliance of Progressive Labor, Bangsamoro Solidarity, Freedom from Debt Coalition, Sanlakas, Stop the War Coalition Philippines of which Focus Philippines is a member, women’s group Sarilaya, Bukluran ng Manggagawa sa Pilipinas , also a workers’ group) participated in a mass and solidarity action to send out a message of hope for the recovery of Japan and to call on Filipinos to help in whatever way they can. The groups also called on the Philippine government to learn from Japan’s nuclear experience, and review its continuing inclusion of nuclear in its energy program.
