We invite you to participate in this important global conference, which will take place in Guantanamo, Cuba on January 10-13.  

January 11 marks the fifth anniversary of the arrival of prisoners at the US prison in Guantanamo. The date will be marked by an international call, a unique conference, organized by Focus on the Global South and endorsed by the UK stop the War Coalition, Global Exchange and

CODEPINK: women for peace, will be held in the city of Guantanamo and in Havana.

The conference, organized for civil rights lawyers and full-time human rights advocates, will focus on the conditions in Guantanamo prison, the status of prisoners and international norms for prisoners, including the Geneva Conventions. In addition to the conference, there will be a stage reading of the play Guantanamo: Honor Bound to Defend Freedom, followed by a discussion and showing of the film The Road to Guantanamo, followed by a discussion.
