The Implications of Post-Bush United States Foreign Policy on the Philippines

 with

DR. JIM GLASSMAN
Department of Geography
University of British Columbia

5 to 7 pm, 3 July 2008, Thursday at the new Focus conference room
19 Maginhawa St., UP Village, Diliman, QC

The United States is set to elect a new president this coming  November 2008, ending eight years of the Bush presidency. "Change you can believe in" is the slogan of the frontrunner Barack Obama, the  Democratic nominee who has electrified the presidential race and has caught the imagination of people around the world. Given that the outcome of the presidential elections in the US will affect not just the United States but the world, what changes – if any – can we expect from US foreign policy post-Bush – under Barack Obama or John McCain?

The Thematic Working Group on Foreign Policy of the Development Roundtable Series (DRTS) invites you to a roundtable discussion with Dr. Jim Glassman, a leading analyst on US security and foreign policy in East and Southeast Asia, on the implications of post-Bush US foreign policy in the Philippines and the region.
